I thought he was very dignified indeed.

Despite what the media tried to convince us all - he did NOT try and abuse his privilege to bypass any laws, rules, mandates, whatever we're calling them this week! I got quite a bit of stick for stating this on Facebook at the time so was nice to get that clarified - though those who doubted it at the time haven't acknowledged this.

What does amuse me though is some people in media and public eye (hello Sajid if you're reading) still want to portray this as truth.

Those same people have nothing to say at all about the Oscars lifting vaccine passes for those attending - which is law in LA County - because (I know youve all already figured this bit) some Hollywood "elites" ARE abusing their positions of privilege to get it lifted!

Djokovic showed great integrity, not only in his responses but the fact his young son is still a Rafa fan doesnt bother him either. I've always been a Rafa fan too (as well as Novak and Roger), and still am a fan of the player despite being disappointed that he wasn't more supportive of his great rival and friend at the time. The fact that young Stefan Djokovic was supporting and even mimicking him during that final just speaks even more to the integrity of Novak. I never thought I could respect him more than I already did. (I still desperately want to see Djokovic v Nadal at Rolland Garros - what a straightener that will be!!)

Novak Djokovic wants to be remembered as the greatest of all time, with the most slams. Regardless of your personal stance on the Covid vaccines, the willingness to forfeit even the chance to do so on principle warrants massive respect.

I still think he'll achieve this regardless.

PS it's nice not to be restricted by the length of a tweet! :-)

Some of the best writing in the last 2 years I’ve read; and I’ve read quite a bit! Beautiful writing

Hmm. There appears to be a deeper story surrounding this individual than you've portrayed. WEF funding and agenda ties. Are you confident you've done your due diligence ahead of effusive support?

Can you explain?

In short he's on record as having close ties to WEF, World Bank, UNICEF & Gates, his foundation was pushing masks on kids and vaccinations, he & his wife are on record as being heavily invested in Biotech covid cure projects.

The media strongly pushed his story from outset; they usually censor the hell out of anything genuinely pushing back. Creating a controlled counter narrative.

There's a detailed Substack article on him which raises a lot of these and other questions

Thankyou. I didn’t know that. I will do some more research. I guess whatever the truth is about him as an individual it highlights to me to the importance of never making it about individuals. It’s about values, principles and the right to choose. X

That Beverley woman writes a substack too!

I laughed aloud at "... a man who is merely a padded bra away from being a panto-dame."

I keep thinking of the petty arguments and accusations thrown at Novak, perhaps he will be remembered in time like Ali, not just for his standing within his sport, but for saying other things matter far more to him.

The value of principle is what you sacrifice for it, and I keep thinking of Hamlet...

"To be or not to be? Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them…”

A noble man.

Comparisons to Ali are interesting - many chastised Muhammad Ali initially for refusing the draft (and his general anti-establishment views) who later claimed that was never so.

Some were more honest - Bob Arum famously said "It turned out he was right, and I was wrong" and they became great friends.

I wonder who Novak's Bob Arum will be.

I personally think the fat ones hate us all the more— they know they are much more likely to die of covid and so are happy to throw fit, happy, healthy children under the jabbing bus in the hope that they won’t be infected. Selfish nature they were born with, selfish they die!

Brilliant articulate article written about a brilliant articulate man … and English is one of only 6 languages he speaks. I hope that people will listen with an open mind and stop listening to main stream media twisting his worlds and purposely spreading rumors about him.

I love the way you write, dissect the story down to facts, rather than babble prejudices and agenda (Hm, Butterworth WHO)! Thank you. Western media has been against Novak for a while, jumping at the new opportunity to undermine, smear and demonise him.

Also, single men take note:

Every woman I know is bored of weak men scuttling to hide from a virus with a 99.8% infection survival rate and an average age of death of 82, hiding their pallid faces behind a strip of cloth in order to appear selfless

Great writing, Bev. The once admirable sunny disposition, open arms and warm embrace of Australia lost in a bygone era. Regimental rather than Waltzing Matilda should lower her head in shame.
